Our Panelists

Tasha Lee

Tasha Lee will be discussing high school advice, such as how to choose the right extracurriculars. As a high schooler, Tasha was FRC Team 5199’s President, and currently, she is attending Cal Poly SLO as a Mechanical Engineering major.

Dean Andrew Lyon

Dr. Andrew Lyon has over 20 years of experience as a chemist, bioengineer, educator, and entrepreneur and currently serves as the Founding Dean of the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering at Chapman University. Before arriving at Chapman, Dr. Lyon spent nearly 16 years at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a member of the Chemistry & Biochemistry faculty. In addition to his role at Chapman, he is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Sanguina, Inc., SēlSym, Inc., and Split Rock Therapeutics, LLC, three early-stage biotechnology companies. He is the recipient of the NSF CAREER, Beckman Young Investigator, Research Corporation Research Innovation, and Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards, an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, and the National Fresenius Award. 

A.Lili Castillo

Majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Biomedical Engineering at UCI, Lili Castillo will explain the benefits of joining clubs and organizations on campus and how those activities can help guide your career path or major selection. She is the President of the Society of Women Engineers at UCI.

Jenny Chung

A reliability engineer at Parker Aerospace, Jenny Chung will also be covering a career in engineering. She completed her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at Santa Clara University and pursued a Master’s degree in Business Administration at Concordia University in Irvine.

Sierra Gross

Pursuing a PhD in Material Science and Engineering at UCI, Sierra Gross will cover how to navigate a career in engineering, recalling personal stories and experiences. This panel will go over how to learn more about a major as well as what to do in college to help with getting a job.
