About Us

Team 5199

Back in October of 2013, seven Dana Hills students (Kobi Greenberg, Colten Franco,  Ben Borovinsky, Jackson Watkins, Kyle Watkins, Steven Perkins, and Camille Perkins) formed a robotics team, Team 5199, “The Robot Dolphins from Outer Space.” The idea originated during a cross country run after Kobi, who ultimately became the team’s first president, read about FIRST in a news article. At the time, the team was limited to Dana Hills students, and meetings were held in a garage. College and Career Advantage (CCA) has since adopted the team into an honors-weighted, after-school class, one that boasts over sixty students across two districts.
